About

The history of OGV

The not-for-profit association was founded in 1999 as the Goulburn-Strathbogie Olive Growers Association (GSOGA).  It has supported olive growers, harvesters & processors, primarily in the Goulburn-Strathbogie region, with energy & distinction over the last 25 years.

The GSOGA membership recently voted unanimously to change the name of the Association to Olive Growers Victoria Incorporated (OGV).

It was felt that this name would better reflect our endeavours to make our program accessible and relevant
to all Victorian olive growers.

OGV’s objectives

  1. To share information relating to olive growing, harvesting, processing and marketing for the mutual benefit of the members of the Association.
  2. To promote and support the production of high quality olives and olive oil by Association members.
  3. To promote the image and standing of the Association and its members as producers of high quality olives and oil.
  4. To represent the interests of the Association and its members in communications with external organisations including consumers, suppliers, the Australian Olive Association and government bodies.

Management is administered by a committee made up of members elected annually at the Annual General Meeting and comprising President, Secretary and Committee, as well as our representative to The Australian Olive Association (Tina Knight) who represents Victorian producers on the AOA Board.

The Committee meets regularly to organise educational seminars, field days including grove visits and practical sessions on grove management.

Join our community; run by growers, for growers.
